The T-ball level is the entry level of play for 5, 6 and some 7 year olds. The ball is hit from a stationary tee although coaches may pitch underhanded to batters towards the end of the season. The structure of T-ball is very laid-back and is geared to ensure that all kids have a fun first experience with team baseball. There is also plenty of basic instruction that is taught to the players.

    T-ball games are played on temporary diamonds set-up on the grass fields around the official Byrd Park fields with occasional games on the "real" diamonds at Byrd Park.  Teams usually play 2 games per week. Team scores are not kept for the games with instruction and teamwork emphasized throughout along with lots of snacks and smiles after the game.
